I’m a big fan of jQuery now. It just makes life so much easier. Tons of plug-ins to choose from and minimize the codes used to do so many cool stuffs on the web. The library itself is pretty small; about the size of small image on normal website.

For anyone doesn’t know what jQuery is, visit www.jquery.com

jQuery is a fast and concise JavaScript Library that simplifies HTML document traversing, event handling, animating, and Ajax interactions for rapid web development. jQuery is designed to change the way that you write JavaScript.

The best way to use jQuery would be to host the script on your own server. But in development and testing state, I prefer to use the one hosted on google or jquery server by including the following code in HEADER section of your HTML file.

jQuery 1.3.2 on Google server:

  • for mini package:
    http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js
  • for full package
    http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.js

The latest version of jQuery on jQuery.com server:

And the code to include it looks like this:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js"></script>
